A Quick Note Before We Start
Your privacy matters to us. We know that sounds like something every website says, but we mean it in a practical, no-nonsense way. We run a small digital store. We sell software access, design services, WordPress help, and a few other digital products. To do that, we need to collect some basic information from you. Not much. And we don't do anything sketchy with it.
This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and what rights you have over your own data. Read through it when you get a chance. If anything is unclear, drop us a line at contact@digitalnepal.shop. We're happy to explain.
By using digitalnepal.shop, you agree to the practices described here.
02
What Information We Collect
We keep data collection to a minimum. Here's what we actually gather and when:
When you place an order
Your full name
Email address (this is where we deliver your product, so it needs to be correct)
WhatsApp number (only if you share it — we use it for delivery updates and quick support, nothing else)
Payment details (more on this below)
Order details (what you bought, when, how much you paid)
When you buy a shared account product (Netflix, Surfshark, Office 365, Canva Pro)
Your email address, so we can send credentials or add you to a team
When you buy a Udemy course gift
Your Udemy account email
The course URL you want gifted
When you order a logo design
Your email address
Whatever you write in the creative brief (brand name, industry, color preferences, references, notes)
Any files or images you send us as inspiration
When you order a WordPress service
Admin (and where needed, hosting) login access — used only for the work you ordered
Site content and details we need to complete the job
Your messages about the project
When you browse the site
Basic analytics data (pages visited, time on site, device type, browser). This is standard stuff that helps us understand what's working and what isn't.
When you contact us
Your name and email (or WhatsApp, if that's where you write to us) and whatever you write in your message
That's it. We don't collect your home address. We don't need your phone number unless you voluntarily give it to us. We don't track your location.
03
Payment Information
Let's be clear about this one because it's the thing people worry about most.
We do not store your credit card numbers, bank details, or payment credentials on our servers. Not in a database. Not in a spreadsheet. Not anywhere.
All payments are processed through third-party payment gateways. When you pay, your financial information goes directly to them over an encrypted connection. They handle the transaction. We only receive a confirmation that payment went through, along with a transaction reference number.
In practice, that means eSewa, Khalti, IME Pay, ConnectIPS, or a direct bank transfer — whichever you pick at checkout. Your financial details go to them, not to us.
If you have concerns about payment security, those are best directed to the payment processor. But from our side, your card details never touch our hands.
04
How We Use Your Information
We use your data for a handful of straightforward reasons:
To deliver your product. You buy a Windows key, we email it to you. You order a logo, we send the files to your inbox. You purchase Canva Pro, we add your email to the team. You order WordPress help, we use your admin access to do the job. We can't do any of that without your information.
To process and track your order. We need to know what you bought, when you bought it, and whether it was delivered successfully.
To communicate with you. Order confirmations, delivery emails, responses to your questions, updates if something goes wrong. That kind of thing.
To improve the store. Anonymous analytics help us see which products people look at, where they drop off, and what we should fix or add.
To handle refunds or disputes. If something goes wrong, your order history helps us figure out what happened and sort it out.
We do not sell your data. We do not rent it out. We do not hand it to marketing companies. We don't even send you promotional emails unless you specifically opt in for them.
05
Shared Accounts and Third-Party Platforms
This part is specific to how some of our products work, so it's worth explaining.
When you buy a shared account product like Netflix, Surfshark, Office 365, or Canva Pro, we need to interact with a third-party platform on your behalf. For example:
For Canva Pro, we add your email to our Canva team. Canva sees your email and your name.
For Netflix, we create a profile under the shared account. Netflix sees the profile activity.
For Office 365, we generate a Premium ID for you. The service provider sees the account login.
In each case, the third-party platform's own privacy policy also applies to your data once it's on their system. We encourage you to read those policies if you're concerned. We can't control what Netflix or Canva does with data on their end.
What we can tell you is this: we don't monitor your activity on these platforms. We don't check what you watch on Netflix, what you design in Canva, or what you browse through Surfshark. Your usage is your business.
06
Cookies and Analytics
Like most websites, digitalnepal.shop uses cookies. Nothing sinister. Here's what they do:
Essential cookies: These keep the site functioning. Your cart remembers what you added. Your login session stays active while you browse. Without these, the store basically doesn't work.
Analytics cookies: We use these to understand traffic patterns. Which pages get visited. How long people stay. Where they come from. All aggregated. No individual tracking.
Marketing cookies: We may use these if we run ads in the future. Right now, we keep it minimal.
You can disable cookies in your browser settings if you want. The site will still load, but some features (like the shopping cart) might not work properly.
We don't use cookies to build a personal profile on you or sell your browsing habits to anyone.
07
Data Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the information you give us.
Our website uses SSL encryption (you'll see the padlock icon in your browser).
Payment data is handled by secure, PCI-compliant processors.
Access to customer data is limited to only those who need it to fulfill orders.
We don't store passwords in plain text.
We don't keep unnecessary data lying around.
That said, no system is 100% foolproof. We can't guarantee absolute security against every possible threat. But we do our best, and we take it seriously.
If you ever suspect that your account credentials (for a product you bought from us) have been compromised, contact us immediately at contact@digitalnepal.shop. The sooner we know, the faster we can help.
08
Data Retention
We don't hoard your data forever. Here's our general approach:
Order records (what you bought, when, transaction ID): Kept for accounting and dispute resolution purposes. Typically retained for a few years as required by local tax and business regulations.
Email correspondence: Kept as long as needed to resolve your issue or fulfill your order. After that, it may be archived or deleted.
Creative briefs and design files: Kept for the duration of the project and a short period after delivery in case you need revisions or have questions. After that, they may be removed.
WordPress access: We don't hold your admin passwords after the job is done — and we recommend you change them once we deliver. Project notes stay in your order record, nothing more.
Analytics data: Aggregated and anonymized. No personal identifiers attached.
If you want us to delete your data sooner, you can ask. See the section below on your rights.
09
Your Rights
You have control over your own information. Here's what you can do:
Access: You can ask us what data we hold about you. We'll provide it in a readable format.
Correction: If something is wrong (typo in your name, wrong email on file), tell us and we'll fix it.
Deletion: You can request that we delete your personal data. There are some exceptions. For example, we may need to keep transaction records for legal or tax reasons. But anything we don't legally need to keep, we'll remove.
Opt out: If we ever send promotional emails (we currently don't unless you opt in), every email will have an unsubscribe link. One click and you're off the list.
Portability: You can ask for a copy of your data in a standard format if you want to take it elsewhere.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at contact@digitalnepal.shop. Include your name and the email associated with your order. We'll respond within a reasonable timeframe, usually within 7 business days.
10
Children's Privacy
Our products and services are not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from kids. If you're a parent or guardian and you believe your child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we'll delete it promptly.
For products like Netflix or Canva, the underlying platforms have their own age restrictions. It's your responsibility to ensure compliance with those rules.
11
Third-Party Links
Our website may contain links to external sites. Product pages might link to official download sources, for instance. Or a blog post might reference another website.
We don't control those external sites. Their privacy practices are their own. We encourage you to read their policies before submitting any personal information to them.
12
Email & WhatsApp Communication
When you buy from us, you'll receive transactional emails. Order confirmations. Delivery emails with your credentials or files. Follow-up messages if we need clarification on a logo brief, a course link, or a WordPress project.
These aren't marketing emails. They're necessary to complete your purchase. You can't opt out of these while an order is active.
WhatsApp works the same way. If you message us there or leave your number at checkout, we'll use it for order updates and support. No promos, no spam, no random broadcast messages.
If we ever introduce a newsletter or promotional emails, we'll only send them to people who explicitly sign up. And every single one will have an unsubscribe option. No exceptions.
We will never spam you. We will never sell your email to a third party. We will never add you to a mailing list you didn't ask to be on.
13
Changes to This Policy
Things change. Laws get updated. We might add new products that require collecting slightly different information. When that happens, we'll revise this policy.
The updated version goes live on this page with a new date at the top. For significant changes, we may also send a notice to recent customers via email. But we won't bombard you with policy update notifications every time we tweak a sentence.
Your continued use of digitalnepal.shop after changes take effect means you accept the revised policy. If you don't agree, you can stop using the site and request deletion of your data.
14
Legal Compliance
We operate under the laws of Nepal. We make a genuine effort to comply with applicable data protection and privacy regulations. If you're located outside Nepal, some of your local privacy rights (like those under GDPR or CCPA) may still apply to how we handle your data. The rights outlined in Section 9 above broadly align with common international standards.
If you have a specific legal concern about how your data is handled, reach out to us first. We'll do our best to address it.
15
Contact Us
Questions about this policy? Want to know what data we have on you? Need something deleted or corrected?
We typically respond within 24 to 48 hours. Weekends and public holidays might add a day or two. When you write to us, mention your order number if your question relates to a specific purchase. It speeds things up.
